Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in telecommunications at carrier scale working with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers, and data services.
  • Experience planning/leading network deployments and creating deployment packages and Methods of Procedures (MOP).
  • Experience planning and coordinating with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications working environment.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with network infrastructure, rack and stack, device commissioning, and quality acceptance control.
  • Experience in collaboration across multiple levels and functions, and passionate to engage and influence tactical and strategic decision-making.
  • Scripting and software development skills (e.g., Python or Go).
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time may be needed during project peak time.

We're involved in every facet of network delivery from architecture and design to installation, configuration, activation, and commissioning.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities
  • Support and participate with Design, Deployment, and Planning teams as needed to deliver end-to-end connectivity for assigned metro sites.
  • Execute and troubleshoot capacity workflows for edge network devices in new and existing network nodes across Google's global network.
  • Work with Core, Transport, and Edge teams to translate common network solutions into standard Bill Of Materials (BOMs) and detailed design packages for third parties to execute with minimal oversight.
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of network documentation and implementation plans (DPKs), ensuring technical accuracy during deployment activities.
  • Apply scripting and software development skills (e.g., Python) to automate workflows, perform data analysis, and drive process optimizations within your assigned scope.
