Job description

The Marketing Specialist serves as the primary marketing partner for ListenUp’s five retail showrooms and their respective Custom Integration divisions across Colorado and New Mexico. This position plays a critical role in driving ListenUp’s marketing initiatives by overseeing all retail and custom integration marketing projects from concept to completion. The person within this role will need to have an entrepreneurial mindset, creating out-of-the-box ways for recognition within the industry. This position reports to the Vice President of Brick and Mortar Sales and has dotted line responsibilities to the Director of Marketing for overall strategy, brand, and greater company objectives.

The role is responsible for leading marketing projects, both internal and external, as well as creating/coordinating and managing the content that supports them. This role will have a large public relations focus, increasing ListenUp’s visibility throughout the residential and commercial integration channels through industry publications, awards, and accolades. This position works closely with showroom managers, Custom Integration leaders, sales teams, vendor partners, and the broader marketing department to develop and execute marketing campaigns that increase local awareness, generate qualified leads, drive showroom traffic, support sales opportunities, and strengthen ListenUp’s reputation within the premium audio/video and smart home industries. This role will need to constantly be aware of ListenUp’s competitive landscape within the custom integration industry, benchmarking our competitors to shape our digital marketing strategy. This position is accountable for driving esteem within the custom industry, increasing ListenUp market share by the way of market research, Google Search, Google My Business, Meta, targeted campaigns, and brand building events. They will be responsible for implementing ListenUp’s custom integration strategy, which will include achieving top Google Search rankings for ListenUp’s suite of custom integration offerings within our region, planning and executing customer events, social media content creation, blog posts, email and SMS marketing, direct mail, SEO, website content development, exhibiting at trade fairs and conventions, industry research and analysis, and creation of marketing materials. This role should ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, maintaining alignment with the greater ListenUp marketing objectives. This individual will have frequent interaction with senior staff. The responsibilities listed below are not all inclusive and are subject to change.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary marketing stakeholder for ListenUp’s five showrooms and their associated Custom Integration divisions

  • Build strong working relationships with showroom managers, Custom Integration leaders, sales team, and other internal stakeholders

  • Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from idea creation to execution

  • Benchmark industry peers’ marketing strategies and comparable campaigns

  • Plan and execute showroom events from concept through promotion, registration, execution, follow-up, and performance reporting

  • Support and host industry events with affiliated custom home networks, such as local Home Builder Associations, while also creating ListenUp sponsored networking opportunities to help drive ListenUp’s business development

  • Translate showroom and Custom Integration sales objectives into actionable campaigns, events, content, and lead-generation programs

  • Identify opportunities for press coverage, contributed content, project features, awards, speaking engagements, and industry recognition

  • Utilize a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels – pay per click campaigns, event management, public relations, social media, lead generation campaigns, local partnerships, direct mail, and email

  • Build strategic relationships and partner with key industry players, agencies and vendors

  • Cultivate relationships with related industry stakeholders, contractors, architects, interior designers, and others whose partnership would positively impact sales performance

  • Develop traditional/physical media content for local campaigns as needed

  • Keep in-store signage up to date within the showrooms, as well as supporting social media content that showcases installation projects and ListenUp’s showrooms

  • Monitor the progress of marketing projects, tracking KPIs provided by management and make adjustments as necessary to ensure ongoing success

  • Respond to Google My Business reviews on an ongoing basis

  • Prepare and present performance reports to leadership, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities for optimization

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related communications, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed, aligned, and supportive throughout the project lifecycle

Management Responsibilities:

  • Head ListenUp’s reputation within the smart home and custom integration industry

  • Create and oversee the creation of original content, copywriting, and ListenUp brand materials

  • Management of customer and vendor events from conception to completion

  • Maintain standards and required quality of representation for the ListenUp brand 

  • Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals

CRITERIA

Required Skills:

  • Candidates for this position must be located near, or willing to relocate to, Denver, Colorado. 

  • Strong project management skills with experience overseeing marketing projects, including product launches, events, and large-scale campaigns.

  • Strong command of digital trends, analytics, deployment tools and demonstrated application.

  • Proven expertise in digital marketing, content creation, and social media management across various platforms.

  • Adept at building and cultivation relationships with internal and external customers.

  • Proficiency in content creation for digital formats.

  • Fluent in both social and traditional media marketing strategies.

  • Analytical mindset with a focus on performance tracking, optimization, and reporting.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Great communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships and align cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience/Education:

  • 2+ years of experience in strategy, email marketing, events and social media across all major platforms, paid and organic content.

  • Experience managing marketing projects with a specified beginning and end, particularly in the context of product and event launches.

  • Experience in or understanding of the integration channel within the consumer electronics industry
