Job description

Job Title: Data Center Site Lead

Location: Onsite

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Technical Site Lead to lead a team of 4–8 technicians working on data center projects. You will manage daily activities, ensure projects are completed on time, maintain quality standards, solve technical issues, and coordinate with customers and engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of 4–8 technicians.
  • Plan and manage data center installation projects.
  • Review engineering drawings, cable plans, and material lists before work starts.
  • Monitor project timelines and ensure SLA targets are met.
  • Troubleshoot fiber, copper, and Layer 1 network issues.
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and customer teams.
  • Assign daily tasks and mentor junior technicians.
  • Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and customer standards.
  • Conduct site inspections before customer audits.
  • Provide daily and weekly project status updates.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in structured cabling, fiber optics, or data center installations.
  • 2+ years of experience leading technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of fiber installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience reading engineering drawings, rack layouts, cable schedules, and port maps.
  • Hands-on experience with OTDR, VFL, power meters, fiber scopes, Cat6 testers, and fiber connectors.
  • Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and project tracking tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10/30 Certification.
  • BICSI, FOA, ETA, or similar fiber certifications.
  • Experience working in hyperscale data centers (Meta, AWS, Google, Azure).
  • Knowledge of optical transport technologies such as ROADM and ZR
