BI Analyst
Location: Newark, NJ, USA
Job Type: Full-Time
Experience: 0–2 Years
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will analyze business data, develop reports and dashboards, and provide actionable insights to support data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, analyze, and interpret data from multiple business sources.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data.
- Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
- Identify trends, patterns, and insights to support business decisions.
- Create and maintain KPIs, metrics, and performance reports.
- Validate data accuracy and perform data quality checks.
- Assist with data modeling, data transformation, and report automation.
- Collaborate with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and business teams.
- Document reporting logic, data sources, and business requirements.
- Present findings and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience or academic knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or another BI tool.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Basic understanding of data modeling and relational databases.
- Knowledge of KPIs, dashboards, and data visualization best practices.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to analyze large datasets and identify meaningful insights.
- Knowledge of Power BI DAX and Power Query.
- Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis.
- Basic understanding of ETL/ELT processes.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or Redshift.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Internship, academic projects, or prior experience in Data Analytics or Business Intelligence.
- Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience.
