Job description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a GIS Mapper for a contract position with a Major Utility Company located in Clifton, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
Pay Rate: $19.40 - $29.40
This role is responsible for maintaining the electric GIS model by processing work orders and updating geospatial data. The GIS Mapper will also perform analysis, create custom maps, and resolve data conflicts. This position is open to recent college graduates with academic or internship experience using GIS applications.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the GIS connected model with information from sources including work management systems, as-built construction drawings, work orders, and field reports
  • Perform analysis or queries to assemble data and prepare reports, tabulations, charts and maps from asset information
  • Produce standard prints and ad-hoc plots for field requests containing specific information
  • Maintain service point data and the relationship to feeding source transformer
  • Track lifespan of utility asset data, including history, inspection and attachments
  • Resolve conflicting data, mapping, connectivity, and land issues through office or field investigation
  • Perform GIS work pertaining to major projects such as facility relocations, load rearrangement and new business
  • Operate automated office equipment including printers, plotters, duplication machines, and scanners
  • Assist other employees in plant work, in the field, or in the office

Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of GIS experience (school or work-related)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to operate motor vehicles in the state of New Jersey
  • Computer skills in MS Office and other Windows applications
  • Able to work at various client locations based on business needs/workload

Desired skills:
  • Experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD
