JOB PURPOSE:

The assigned graduate/undergraduate students shall possess a broad-based set of skills to participate in the activities outlined in the project scope. Each intern will work under a different manager for the project they are assigned to.

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:

DDOT Manager, Progress Report and Timesheet submitted to Richa Lamsal

NATURE AND SCOPE:

Graduate and Undergraduate students will work on transportation research projects as established by different departments at DDOT. The summer interns are allowed to work up to 40 hours a week.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The interns will conduct data collection, analysis and report writing. The interns will work on a technical report detailing their methodologies and findings. They are required to report their progress in an online form at the end of every month. The interns will also prepare and present a poster to highlight their project at the end of the summer internship period.

CORE COMPETENCIES:

A combination of one or more skills required by the project manager. Some of the most required skills are as follows: 1. Knowledge of Transportation Planning, 2. Geographic Information System (GIS) or ArcGIS 3. Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Suite 4. Familiarity with data analysis, analysis software (R, Python, Excel, Tableau) and technical report writing 5. Familiarity with policy and implementation

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 2.5 or above GPA for undergraduate students and 3.0 or above GPA for graduate students.
