They are an excellent way to learn about German work culture, improve language skills, and build professional networks. Many companies in Germany offer internships to both domestic and international students, often requiring at least basic knowledge of German or English. Internships can sometimes lead to full-time job offers upon successful completion.

What do interns in Germany do?

They usually collaborate closely with experienced professionals, attend team meetings, and may be given independent tasks or mini-projects. While responsibilities vary depending on the industry and company size, most internships aim to provide hands-on experience and practical skills development. Interns are encouraged to proactively seek feedback and ask questions, as this fosters learning and integration into the team.
