Human Resources Internship

The Human Resources Intern will assist the Dexter HR team with projects and day-to-day HR administration, including recruiting, employer branding, communications, training, onboarding, and maintaining HR data. This role provides hands-on experience across multiple areas of Human Resources while supporting programs and processes that help create a positive employee experience.

Potential locations for this internship include Elkhart, Bristol, and Albion Indiana.

As a Human Resources Intern, you will be working on hands-on projects. Potential projects may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with updates to HR policies and procedure documents
  • Supporting annual compensation processes and related HR initiatives
  • Helping with pre-employment activities and the onboarding of new hires
  • Contributing to training and development efforts, including the creation of learning materials and courses
  • Assisting with HR data entry and maintenance in systems such as ADP and PRISM
  • Organizing, digitizing, and auditing employee files for accuracy and compliance
  • Supporting benefits communications and open enrollment planning
  • Writing and revising job descriptions and job advertisements
  • Supporting recruiting activities, including Handshake, career fairs, and other university recruiting efforts
  • Assisting with additional HR projects and initiatives as assigned
