Job description

Christiana Care is hiring a full time Registered Dietitian II for their Weight Management program based out of Wilmington, De.

The Weight Management office offers a full array of options, including one-on-one counseling, group classes, personalized medically supervised programs, a meal-replacement program and bariatric surgery. You would be alongside nurse practitioners, other registered dietitians, exercise physiologists and clinical psychologists.

As a Registered Dietitian on the team, you would help with weight management, bariatric patients, post operation nutrition and much more! You would average between 10-15 patients per day and flexible scheduling is offered.

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday, 8a-4:30

  • Occasional Evenings

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs in-depth nutritional assessments for patients at risk of or with a chronic disease, obesity, and those who are seeking bariatric surgery

  • Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret scientific information to identify age-specific needs and to provide the appropriate care and education

  • Effectively communicates an evaluates diet history data through computer analysis

  • Demonstrates skill and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric population.

  • Provides individual counseling and group education.

  • Maintains medical records according to HIPPA guidelines and third-party billing guidelines.

  • Design and present clinically accurate innovative presentations for other health care professionals and the community

  • Participates in inter-disciplinary team meetings and patient care

  • Reviews, evaluates, and utilizes current nutrition and chronic disease management research 

  • Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Nutrition, Registered Dietitian (R.D.).

  • Minimum one year experience as a clinical dietitian, nutrition outreach, counseling and group education related to chronic disease is preferred, candidates who have recently concluded their internship and are Registered Dietitians will be considered.

  • Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) preferred or commitment to obtain within 2 years as necessary.

  • Licensed in the State of Delaware. (L.D.N.)

Annual Compensation Range $63,107.20 - $100,984.00 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
