Job Summary

An Analyst Foreign Exchange Trader within KeyBanc Capital Markets ("KBCM") is a highly analytical and technically skilled contributor on the foreign exchange trading desk. This individual has an engineering or quantitative background and under the guidance of the Desk Head and more senior traders, is eager to apply their technical expertise to financial markets. The Analyst Trader supports senior traders in executing FX trades, managing risk, developing pricing models, and enhancing electronic trading strategies through data-driven insights. Position is based in Cleveland, Ohio.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in execution of spot, forward, swap, and option foreign exchange transactions across the currency spectrum
  • Monitor market conditions, economic data releases, and geopolitical developments impacting FX markets
  • Support pricing, hedging, and risk management of client flows and hedge positions
  • Leverage programming skills to develop, maintain, and improve quantitative models and trading tools
  • Analyze large datasets to quantify FX trading results and identify strategic business opportunities
  • Collaborate with Sales, Trading and Risk Management teams to deliver client solutions
  • Contribute to automation and optimization of electronic trading workflows and systems
  • Leverage technical and analytical skills to support electronic trading initiatives, including development and enhancement of digital trading solutions and tools used for pricing, execution, and market risk management.
  • Ensure desk adherence to internal risk limits, compliance policies, and regulatory requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or a related technical field OR equivalent experience (required)

Work Experience

  • Fixed income trading (preferred)
  • Internship or coursework related to financial markets, trading, or quantitative finance (preferred)
  • Familiarity with FX products (spot, forwards, swaps, options)
  • Exposure to eFX trading platforms (Bloomberg, FXAll, 360T, Reuters)


Licenses and Certifications

  • FINRA License S7 within 90 Days (required)
  • FINRA License S63 within 90 Days (required)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (preferred)
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) (preferred)

  • Financial Markets : Demonstrated interest in financial markets and foreign exchange, including knowledge of capital markets and the dynamic trading environment
  • Understands the nuances of the market - ability to navigate and persevere in a challenging trading environment to generate revenue

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $80,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
