Job description

BISM- Raleigh Division is expanding and growing at our Raleigh location at 2100 Harrod Street, Raleigh NC 27604. We are looking for an experienced mechanic to join our team!


The industrial sewing machine mechanic will be responsible for the setup and maintenance of single needle, lockstitch and surge, as well as automatic sewing machines.


So, what will you actually be doing?

  • Ability to set up and maintain sewing machines and document machine repairs and parts used.
  • Procurement of necessary parts and spares to ensure minimal down time.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on machines and other equipment.
  • Train or instruct other employees on proper use and operation of machines. Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
  • Maintain and secure work tools.
  • Make recommendations on repair/replacement of equipment.
  • Install new equipment.
  • Maintain a parts inventory for equipment.
  • Clean and maintain work area.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity required – will routinely stand, sit, lift, climb, etc.
  • Must have strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatics aptitude with good trouble shooting skills
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and will need to pass company sponsored forklift training course.
  • Must be able to read and work from circuit diagrams, blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • General knowledge of construction trades i.e. carpentry, electricity, HVAC, plumbing with the ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
