THE ROLE
We're hiring a Laborer/Assembler at our Aquamine Facility. You'll be responsible for material handling, shipping and receiving activities, and the assembly and fabrication of PVC and CPVC valve products.
Overtime: Employees must be willing to work in excess of 8 hours in one shift as business conditions require it. Employees must be willing and available to work weekends on an on-going basis if needed. Overtime will be paid for all hours worked in excess of forty hours in any one week.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Must be able to successfully follow directions and adhere to all safety and work instructions.
  • Ensure production is to Victaulic's established quality standards
  • Must be a team player who works effectively with others and contributes to a positive work environment.
  • Must be able to safely operate PIVs (Powered Industrial Vehicles i.e. fork trucks, pallet jacks and walk behind stackers), industrial wrappers and jib hoists
  • Be able to safely load and unload trucks.
  • Follow established work instructions and standard operating procedures to maintain product quality and consistency.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to consistently identify products and product defects
  • Maintain work areas, tools, and materials in a clean and organized condition and return materials to designated locations after use.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines and participate in continuous improvement, quality, safety, and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Report immediately to their supervisor any injury, unsafe act or condition, or any failure or impending failure of plant equipment.
  • Perform all "5S" Daily Requirements and maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Read and interpret work orders, shipping documents, labels, and production instructions.
  • Complete all required paperwork, documentation, record keeping and inventory accurately and legibly
  • Communicate immediately any unsafe conditions or non-conforming raw materials or products
  • Ability to gather necessary products and materials accurately for all customer orders assigned to them
  • Must be able to assemble valves using mechanical assembly methods and/or solvent welding processes.
  • Meet established productivity, quality, and safety expectations.

WHAT YOU NEED
  • Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, shipping paperwork, and production documentation.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and technical skills required.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and basic measuring devices.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience operating pallet jacks and material handling equipment preferred.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Employee will be working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment
  • Employee will lift up to 40lbs, generally 5-40lbs
  • Frequent lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing
  • Employee may have to work on the weekends, overtime, or different shifts
  • Employee will wear personal protective equipment at all times such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, gloves, etc

COMPENSATION
The hourly pay range for this position is $19.50 per hour. This role may also be eligible for shift differentials, overtime pay, and the full benefits package described above.
