Job description

Summary The Assistant Swimming & Diving Coach will assist the Head Coach in all aspects of operating a successful NCAA Division I women's swimming & diving program at Bowling Green State University. This position assists with and administering parts of daily training operations, student-athlete development, team travel coordination, recruiting efforts, and administrative responsibilities while upholding the mission and values of the University, Department of Athletics, and NCAA. Essential Functions Assist in coaching the sport; utilize coaching and teaching methods to develop student athletes' skills and teamwork.

Oversee the program's distance training group, including the design and implementation of daily training sessions, meet warm-up preparation, and race strategy. Lead instruction for one of the four competitive strokes during stroke-specific training sessions and technical development practices. Play an active role in the program's recruiting efforts, including communication with prospective student-athletes and families, coordinating and participating in on-campus recruiting visits, and assisting with the overall visit experience.

Coordinate team meal orders and food logistics during team travel. Serve as the program's primary liaison to the athletics equipment staff, including apparel and equipment ordering, inventory management, distribution, and organization of aquatic equipment and team gear. Partner with the Athletics Communications/Sports Information staff to assist with program publicity, social media content, and promotion of the swimming & diving program.

Assist in fostering a positive team culture centered on accountability, academic success, competitive excellence, and student-athlete well-being. Participate in alumni engagement, community outreach activities, camps, clinics, and other program initiatives as assigned. Maintain knowledge of and compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations.

Minimum Qualifications The following Degree is required: Bachelor's degree The following Experience is required: 1 year collegiate coaching and/or competitive swimming experience The following Licensure, Certifications, or Registration is preferred: American Red Cross Lifeguarding and CPR Certification preferred, or must obtain certification within 30 days of hire. Additional Information Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Collegiate coaching and/or competitive swimming experience preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required. Commitment to the academic and athletic development of student-athletes in a Division I environment.
