Job description

Construction Management Internship - Roll up your sleeves, hit the site, and see how buildings come to life.
KBS Constructors is looking for motivated Construction Management (or related program) interns ready to learn by doing. This field-focused internship puts you on active construction sites, working alongside skilled craft workers and seeing first-hand how commercial buildings are built.
You'll gain hands-on experience with tasks like framing, drywall, rough carpentry, concrete work, and installing doors, hardware, acoustical ceilings, and casework. You'll also have the chance to shadow Project Managers and Estimators to see how projects are planned and executed.
Full-time, mid-May through August in Topeka and/or surrounding areas. Build skills. Gain experience. Jumpstart your construction career with KBS.
Responsibilities
  • Execute tasks and activities as directed and according to plans and specifications provided by the superintendent.
  • Assists with wall layout, framing, sheet rocking, drywall finishing, rough carpentry, and concrete work. Assists with installing acoustical ceilings, bathroom partitions, doors and hardware, casework and trims.
  • Assists with ensuring compliance with quality and production standards established by the superintendent's task plans.
  • Fosters a positive attitude within the crew.
  • Complies with safety policies.
  • Keeps jobsite clean and free of debris as needed for a safe environment.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as directed by the superintendent.
