Description
The Graduate Assistant for Football is a part-time, ten-month position which runs from August 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027. This position will assist the football program in all aspects of daily operations, player development, administrative tasks, and game-day support, while also contributing to the overall operations of the Athletics Department. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced collegiate athletic environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Football Program Support:
  • Assist the football coaching staff in all facets of program operations.
  • Support practice planning, positional instruction, film breakdown, recruiting coordination, and opponent scouting.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and travel as necessary.
  • Coach and oversee a position group (offense or defense).

Academic & Student-Athlete Support:
  • Manage and schedule academic study halls for football student-athletes.
  • Communicate effectively with student-athletes regarding expectations, academic progress, and team standards.

Event Management & Residence Life:
  • Lead game-day event staff for winter and spring sports as needed.
  • Assist with facility maintenance projects to ensure readiness and safety.
  • Willingness to be trained and perform on-call Residence Life duties.
    • Duties will be coordinated with Director of Residence Life and Director of Athletic.

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Earned bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by start date.
  • Must enroll in an approved Hilbert College graduate program prior to beginning the role.
  • Experience working in a college athletics environment (preferred).
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

$1,000 Stipend and Hilbert College Graduate tuition waiver (details provided during interview process).
