Advanced Electric Systems (AES) is seeking Power Transformer Field Service Technicians (Mid-Level through Senior) to support field assembly, electrical testing, oil processing, inspection, repair, and commissioning of utility-grade power transformers and associated equipment.

This position requires relocation to Utah and will serve as a home base for field operations. Technicians will support outage-based maintenance, transformer installation, commissioning, field repair, and capital upgrade projects for utility and EPC clients nationwide.

This is a travel-intensive position, with extensive nationwide travel required to support transformer installation, startup, inspection, maintenance, and lifecycle service projects. Candidates should be comfortable spending significant time in the field and traveling to project locations across the country.

  • Perform field assembly, inspection, testing, and repair of power transformers
  • Execute electrical testing and evaluate transformer condition
  • Support outage-based commissioning and startup of transformer equipment
  • Lead or support field crews during installation and maintenance projects
  • Inspect and troubleshoot LTCs, bushings, and auxiliary devices
  • Document and report test results per project specifications
  • Coordinate with utility clients, EPCs, and project management teams

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years transformer field service or electrical apparatus experience
  • Experience with power transformer testing or oil processing
  • Familiarity with Doble, Omicron, or Vanguard test equipment
  • Mechanical aptitude for assembly and repair activities
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and transformer nameplate data
  • Willingness to travel for project assignments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Transformer Assembly Experience

  • LTC Maintenance or Inspection Experience
  • Commissioning or Startup Experience

  • Military Prime Power or Equivalent
