Job description

Overview

We are currently looking for a Test Engineer I to join us at our Sun Prairie Innovation Center. This employee will work to support advanced concept development and new humidifier product development through laboratory testing, data analysis, prototype development, and engineering design activities. For this position, laboratory testing support will start as the primary responsibility with increasing project involvement over time and as team and/or businessĀ needs evolve.

This position will be full time, and onsite in our Sun Prairie Innovation Center M-F.


Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute engineering test plans (DVP&R) to validate product performance, durability, and safety.
  • Conduct laboratory testing ranging from established standardized procedures to development of new testing methodologies for emerging technologies and product categories.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret engineering test data and present findings and recommendations ranging from technical reports, presentations, and recommendations.
  • Troubleshoot prototype, product, test equipment, and laboratory issues.
  • Support engineering, pilot build, and pre-production activities as required.
  • Build and evaluate prototypes to verify fit, form, function, and performance objectives.
  • Assist with the development of product concepts, designs, and engineered solutions, correlating test results with engineering analysis.
  • Create and use CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation for test fixtures and design refinement.
  • Conduct competitive product evaluations and failure analysis to help guide product improvements and differentiation.
  • Support advanced concept development feasibility studies.
  • Assist in development of test fixtures, instrumentation systems, and laboratory methods using data acquisition equipment.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management, and Industrial Design.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Previous internship, co-op, laboratory, research, or product development experience strongly preferred.
  • 0-3 years of engineering experience.
  • 1 year of previous lab or hands on experience desired.
  • Previous testing and test documentation experience desired.
