Are you interested in being part of an innovative team that supports Westinghouse's mission to provide clean energy solutions? At WECTEC Staffing Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, we recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset and we seek to identify, attract and recruit the most qualified talent while recognizing and encouraging the value of diversity in the global workplace.

About the role:

We are looking for a Structural Project Engineer to support a portfolio of multi-year hydroelectric facility projects across Western Wisconsin. You will focus on dam reconstruction and infrastructure upgrades, involving complex structural steel and reinforced concrete work in water-based environments.

This is a long-term opportunity (estimated 5-6 years) supporting regulated projects, including coordination with federal agencies such as FERC. You will be an important technical interface between engineering and construction teams, helping ensure quality, safety, and successful project execution.

You will follow a hybrid schedule based in Minneapolis, MN, with regular travel to project sites in the Menomonie and Eau Claire, WI area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide structural engineering support for hydroelectric dam reconstruction and upgrade projects
  • Be the on-site technical liaison between engineering, construction, and project management teams
  • Review structural steel and reinforced concrete designs and construction activities
  • Support issue resolution in the field and ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards
  • Collaborate with construction management teams, engineering consultants, and contractors
  • Participate in regular site visits (weekly/bi-weekly) to monitor progress and address technical challenges
  • Help with document management and coordination using SharePoint and project systems
  • Support project planning and coordination activities across multiple workstreams
  • Mentor junior staff or interns

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited), with a focus in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • 5-7 years of experience in structural engineering (steel and concrete design/construction)
  • 5+ years of experience supporting construction or infrastructure projects
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint
  • Access and review native CAD files (MicroStation preferred)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Our Safety Pledge to You:
