Job description

Building Tomorrow's Innovations Today
What if you could sit at the table where AWS was first suggested? Or be in the room when Amazon Prime was just an ambitious idea? At Amazon, most of our innovations started with leaders who dared to think differently. Through the Amazon Leadership Accelerator (ALA), you could be next.
ALA is our selective MBA leadership development program designed to cultivate the next generation of transformative product leaders. The program provides a multi-year pathway for ambitious MBA graduates to work on high-impact initiatives, receive mentorship from senior executives, and accelerate their journey toward becoming future senior leaders at Amazon and elsewhere. ALA participants work directly with senior executives to identify customer needs and scale innovative solutions into transformative businesses. This multi-year pathway combines deep product management fundamentals with technical aptitude - the same combination that built game-changing products like AWS, Alexa, Prime, and Kindle.
This isn't a typical MBA role - it's an opportunity to shape the future of how millions of customers live, work, and play. As a Product Manager in the ALA program, you'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with senior leaders who've built billion-dollar businesses, tackling challenges that stretch beyond your comfort zone while receiving the mentorship to help you succeed.
You'll lead working backwards sessions, write and refine PR/FAQs, dive deep into metrics, and make data-driven decisions about future priorities. Regular touchpoints with your leadership team will help shape your strategic thinking, while collaboration with architects and engineers will strengthen your technical judgment. You'll be part of a cohort of high-caliber MBA graduates who learn, build, and grow together.
Please note: This role is not open to internal applicants.
Key job responsibilities
Whether you're conducting customer research, developing business cases, or presenting to senior leadership, each day offers opportunities to impact our customers. Throughout your journey, you'll be supported by a community of peers and mentors who share your passion for building what's next.
Customer & Business Impact
• Identify and analyze customer pain points and unmet needs
• Define clear success metrics for your project
• Conduct market analysis and customer research
• Build compelling business cases showing value creation
Product Development
• Own a significant product initiative from ideation to prototype
• Create working backwards documentation (PR/FAQ)
• Design and validate prototype solutions with customers
• Define business requirements and implementation roadmap
• Make data-driven decisions about feature design
Strategic Thinking & Innovation
• Develop product strategy based on market analysis
• Explore innovative solutions to customer problems
• Create competitive positioning recommendations
• Contribute to go-to-market planning
Technical & Stakeholder Collaboration
• Work across functions to drive project execution
• Present recommendations to senior leadership
• Build understanding of technical architecture and constraints
Your 12-week internship will focus on delivering meaningful impact through a project with clear customer benefits and business outcomes, while providing exposure to core product management responsibilities.
A day in the life
Your day might begin with analyzing customer feedback and usage data, collaborating with senior leaders to identify unmet needs that could become Amazon's next breakthrough product. You'll regularly engage with stakeholders across functions to drive your product vision forward, while spending significant time with engineering teams to define technical requirements and ensure scalable solutions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 week internship maximum

- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Data-driven decision-making skills
- Customer-centric mindset with bias for action
- Tech-savvy with ability to engage in technical discussions
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of relevant full-time industry or military experience, which occurred between the conferral date from your undergraduate program and prior to starting your MBA or master's program
- Background in product management, technology, or related field
- Experience with AI/ML technologies
- Track record of leadership impact across diverse experiences
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous environments
- History of driving innovation and challenging status quo
