Job description

Failure Analysis Technician
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a detail-oriented Failure Analysis Technician for a company based in Fort Worth, TX. In this role, you will have the opportunity to investigate product failures, identify root causes, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve quality and manufacturing performance in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.

Pay Rate
$25.00 per hour

Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Overtime and weekend hours may be required to support production needs.

Failure Analysis Technician Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform failure analysis on production units, subassemblies, and components to determine root causes of defects and malfunctions.
• Inspect, test, and evaluate electronic and mechanical assemblies using diagnostic equipment and established procedures.
• Analyze returned products, customer-reported issues, and production failures to identify trends and recurring problems.
• Document findings, test results, root cause determinations, and corrective action recommendations.
• Conduct troubleshooting activities using schematics, technical drawings, test equipment, and manufacturing documentation.
• Support engineering teams with investigations, process improvements, and product quality initiatives.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering personnel to implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Assist with validation of corrective actions and monitor the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to failure investigations and quality performance metrics.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects and improving reliability.
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards, ESD requirements, and manufacturing procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Failure Analysis Technician Qualifications and Requirements
• Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Experience performing troubleshooting, diagnostics, and failure analysis in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, bills of materials, and engineering documentation.
• Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, microscopes, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies and corrective action processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to document technical findings clearly and accurately.
• Understanding of ESD control procedures and electronics handling requirements.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform detailed inspection work throughout the shift.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in an EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) or high-volume electronics manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with SMT, PCBA, and electronic assembly processes.
• Experience supporting quality investigations and corrective action programs.
• Knowledge of production testing and electronic troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience with data collection, trend analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and manufacturing best practices.
