Job description

The Allied Solutions internship program is a robust and consistent internship program for rising Juniors and Seniors. The program will focus on learning and development as well as hands-on experience. The program will immerse the intern into a broad range of responsibilities, allowing you to execute projects within your area of professional interests.
Interested applicants must be available during the 12-week program (May 17th - Aug. 6th, 2027). This is a full-time internship (40-hours per week) based at our headquarters in Carmel, IN.
The Data Science Intern will join the Data Intelligence team and gain hands-on experience applying data, analytics, and AI to real business challenges. This role is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in Data Science and provides exposure to the full data lifecycle through structured rotations across Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Governance, and Data Analytics. The internship emphasizes developing analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills while building an understanding of how enterprise data is collected, managed, governed, and transformed into actionable insights.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and actionable business insights.

  • Support the development, testing, and evaluation of predictive models, machine learning solutions, and AI use cases.

  • Prepare, cleanse, and transform data for analytical and Data Science applications.

  • Create visualizations and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations to business stakeholders.

  • Conduct research on emerging AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics techniques.

  • Participate in a Data Engineering rotation focused on data pipelines, data integration, and modern data platform concepts (20%).

  • Participate in a Data Governance rotation focused on data quality, stewardship, metadata management, and trusted data practices (15%).

  • Participate in a Data Analytics rotation focused on reporting, dashboards, performance metrics, and business decision support (15%).

  • Collaborate with Data Intelligence team members across multiple disciplines to understand the end-to-end data lifecycle.

  • Present project outcomes and internship learnings to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Perform other projects and analyses as assigned.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA)
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program as a rising Junior or Senior, pursuing a degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Foundational experience with Python, SQL, and data analysis concepts.

  • Understanding statistics, analytical methods, or machine learning concepts.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Curiosity about AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies.

  • Interest in how organizations leverage data as a strategic asset.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
