Requirements
Internship Overview
Our client-facing teams work to initiate and maintain a dialogue with TerraCycle's brand partners, clients, and stakeholders and are looking for interns to support those conversations. Ideal interns are business-minded with the natural ability to connect with clients and coworkers in order to complete meaningful projects with ambitious deadlines. Our client-facing teams include Account Management and Business Development which support various lines of business including our B2B, B2C, Zero Waste Box, Retail, and Materials teams.
Account Management interns will assist in serving as the key liaisons between TerraCycle and its existing brand partners. Account Management interns support the brand sponsored programs, aid Account Managers in driving program growth by developing presentations, researching industry topics and statistics, planning social media and email marketing strategies, setting retail promotions, and generating product concepts.
Business Development interns will work directly with the Business Development team to support the growth of TerraCycle's relationship with new and prospective clients. Business Development interns will help identify brands, retailers and others who would find value in a partnership with TerraCycle. Interns will become familiar and comfortable with all external and internal sales decks and materials to assist on supporting a variety of projects.
Strategic Relationships interns will support executive-level correspondence and relationship management for TerraCycle's Founder and CEO, Tom Szaky. Interns will learn to maintain strategic relationships, foster excitement, and identify new business opportunities across all TerraCycle business units. They will also develop expertise in extended producer responsibility (EPR) laws and related policies affecting the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, gaining insight into their impact on TerraCycle's business strategy and client communications. This role is ideal for candidates with a keen interest in corporate diplomacy, strong analytical skills to synthesize information into concise briefs, and exceptional written communication abilities.
Internship Responsibilities
  • Assist the team in organizing ideas in a convincing and compelling manner for a wide range of clients
  • Work cross functionally with other departments to ensure deliverables for clients
  • Support the development of client-ready marketing, communications, and sustainability recommendations for a portfolio of clients & potential clients

Internship Requirements
  • Must be able to commit to minimum 16 hours per week
  • Must be able to report to the office a minimum of two days per week

Internship Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Pursuing a degree in Business Administration or related field, preferred for AM & BD roles.
  • Pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies, Public Policy, Communication, Sustainability or related field.
  • If enrolled in a college or university, in good academic standing
  • Intermediate skill in Google Suite
  • Strong research acumen to gain insight on competitors, partners, and potential business opportunities
  • High level of effectiveness in written, oral and digital communication
