Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Transportation Intern, we'll count on you to:

  • Work as a member of a design team on multiple projects serving clients such as MTA C&D, MTA MNR, MTA-New York City Transit, NYSERDA, NYCDOT, PANYNJ and NYSDOT, NYCDEP, NYCDDC, NYC Dept. of Parks & Recreation,
  • The position includes preparation of planning studies, NEPA and SEQRA documentation, environmental impact assessments, documenting environmental compliance and permitting applications
  • The candidate will need to be a self-motivated individual who utilizes the highest level of professionalism while performing engineering assignments
  • The candidate will also perform other duties as needed
  • The position is expected to be in-person full-time at the New York, NY office
  • The Environmental Sciences & Planning department engages in several areas of environmental compliance and planning, including Transit projects, Highway & Local Roadway projects, Renewable Energy Projects, Green Infrastructure/Stormwater management, Drainage & Grading, Utility/Facility upgrades, Feasibility studies, flood mitigation and resiliency, and recreation/waterfront development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous AE internship experience is preferred
  • Preference is given to local candidates
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and MS programs
Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Attention to detail
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
