The Barnard College English Department seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support a faculty member with ongoing scholarly projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone interested in English literature.

Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:

The Barnard College English Department seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support a faculty member with
ongoing scholarly projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone interested in English literature.


Responsibilities
Conduct library, archival, and online research to gather primary and secondary sources
Scan documents and create electric files
Help organize notes, documents, and research files for current projects
Provide additional research or administrative support as needed
Qualifications
Excellent writing, reading, and critical analysis skills
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple sources accurately
Familiarity with library databases (CLIO, JSTOR, MLA Bibliography, etc.)
Strong organizational skills and reliability in meeting deadlines
Prior experience with research or citation management software (Zotero, EndNote, etc.) is a plus
Hours & Compensation
Part-time, flexible schedule (10-15 hours per week, depending on project needs)

Pay Rate: $25/hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimateof the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
