Job description

Quanta Power Solutions brings together the industry-leading capabilities and resources of Quanta's operating companies to deliver complete EPC solutions. Our integrated approach spans power generation, battery energy storage, renewables, transmission, substation, and underground infrastructure — from concept to commissioning, we execute complex power infrastructure projects with the speed, certainty, and operational excellence our customers depend on.

At Quanta Power Solutions, we are driven by a culture of safety, integrity, and disciplined execution — and we're building a team that shares that commitment.

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer I to join our growing EPC team supporting projects across the power sector, including power generation, renewable energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, and transmission systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity for early-career engineers to gain hands-on experience supporting the design, development, and execution of complex energy infrastructure projects.

Working alongside experienced engineers and project teams, the Electrical Engineer I will assist with electrical system design, calculations, drawing development, field support, and multidisciplinary coordination while building a strong foundation in EPC project execution.

  • Assist with the design and development of electrical systems for power and industrial projects
  • Support preparation of electrical deliverables including single-line diagrams, schematics, panel layouts, cable schedules, grounding plans, and equipment layouts
  • Perform basic electrical calculations including voltage drop, conduit fill, cable sizing, lighting, and load analysis
  • Assist with development of construction packages, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines to support integrated project designs
  • Review vendor drawings and equipment submittals for compliance with project requirements
  • Support field activities including site visits, construction support, startup, and commissioning efforts
  • Assist with material take-offs, project estimates, and procurement support activities
  • Participate in design reviews and quality assurance processes
  • Maintain compliance with company standards, client specifications, and applicable industry codes and regulations
  • Employee may be required to visit job sites, field offices, and customer locations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • 0–3 years of electrical engineering experience
  • Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and power systems
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in both team and independent environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or co-op experience supporting EPC, utility, industrial, or construction projects
  • Exposure to power generation, substations, transmission systems, renewable energy, or BESS projects
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable industry standards
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward licensure
  • Experience with SKM, ETAP, or other power system analysis software

  • Competitive Compensation
  • Weekly Pay
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan
