Job Description

The Opportunity: 

The American Girl Distribution Center in DeForest, Wisconsin is seeking Seasonal Forklift Drivers to support operations during our peak business season from September through December. This is a temporary seasonal position established to provide additional staffing support during the holiday fulfillment period. Employment in this role is expected to continue through the seasonal assignment and is not intended to be a regular or permanent position.

Seasonal Forklift Drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient movement of inventory throughout the distribution center, ensuring products are received, stored, replenished, and distributed accurately to support customer demand. Working in a fast-paced, automated warehouse environment, this role requires the ability to safely operate material handling equipment, perform inventory transactions, and support warehouse operations while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Successful candidates demonstrate sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to meet operational goals.

The regular schedule for this position is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; however, work hours are subject to change based on business needs, and occasional weekend shifts may be required during the seasonal assignment. Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule throughout the duration of the peak season.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with Material Handlers and warehouse team members to unload inbound trailers and support the timely flow of product throughout the distribution center.
  • Transport and place inventory in reserve, active, breakout, customer program, and dock locations using appropriate lift equipment.
  • Unload inbound trailers and move product efficiently while maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Support the movement and replenishment of inventory to ensure operational demands are met.
  • Utilize Windows-based warehouse management systems to initiate replenishments, perform inventory moves, cancel tasks, and complete other inventory transactions.
  • Use RF scanning equipment to accurately process receipts, inspection releases, transfers, inventory movements, and other warehouse transactions.
  • Complete daily pre-operational inspections of assigned equipment, including forklifts and safety harnesses, and promptly report equipment concerns or malfunctions to leadership.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment by collecting and relocating empty pallets, reusable slip sheets, and empty bin boxes.
  • Assist with additional warehouse functions, including unloading containers, unboxing finished products, loading customer shipments, and supporting special projects as assigned.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
