3rd shift

Location: Elgin, IL | On-Site
Job Summary:
Maintain proper levels of materials at molding presses to ensure continuous operation
of the molding press. Clean material handling system at job change.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assists with all duties related to supporting the Material Handler
  • Verify that the right material is being used. By comparing material called for on job order to material marked on container at press, and/or staging area.
  • Accurately update lot number on material container at press, or staging area.
  • Keep hoppers filled and grinders emptied at all times.
  • Keep materials covered at all times to prevent contamination.
  • Monitors regrind material and grinder condition at presses and report any problems to Foreman.
  • Conscious of the safety, and quality of all equipment, products, and fellow employees.
  • Ensure the correct material and proper material handling equipment needed to run the job efficiently, at the machine, on a continuing basis until the order is complete.
  • Keep material information accurately updated at presses.
  • Process work orders.
  • Supports production to ensure efficiencies.
  • Ensures that the computer is ready for production and use for the Material Handler.
  • Pass down information on any problems or short-term upcoming changes
  • Any and all duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be able to lift a 65 lb. bag 5 ft. high.
  • Ability to understand information posted on Daily Production Schedule.
  • Physical ability to safely climb ladders.
  • Must be able to interpret, plan, and organize the daily activities set forth.
Education and Experience:
  • One (1) year previous experience knowing the characteristics of materials being processed, or related training as a machine operator.
  • Good command of the English language with good communication and writing skills.
  • Good planning/organizational skills.
  • Accurate math and documentation skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of walking and standing.
  • Extended period of time sitting at a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 65lbs.
  • Production plant that is moderately loud; ear protection encouraged, but not required.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizationโ€™s facilities.
