Job description

Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Location: 3200 E Renner Rd, Richardson, TX (US-TX-RICHARDSON-461). Role Type: Onsite.

Date Posted: 2026-05-28. Salary Range: $86,800 - $165,200 USD.

Security Clearance

Active and transferable DoD Secret clearance required on day 1. U.S. citizenship required.

What You Will Do
  • Provide direct support to stakeholders to answer questions and solve technical issues.
  • Develop design and implement software that satisfies customer and certification needs.
  • Produce high-quality software builds in an integrated test environment.
  • Derive software requirements, create UML design diagrams, and code solutions from UML design diagrams.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other Senior and Principal level Software Engineers, mentoring junior engineers and interns.
  • Assist in the software requirements verification and test phases.
What You Will Learn
  • Opportunity to learn and grow knowledge within the Strategic Nuclear Deterrence domain.
  • Experience leading roles such as Scrum Master, Product Owner, Cost Account Manager, and Software Lead.
  • Become a subject matter expert and leader in communication technologies across various business areas.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance.
  • Experience in Agile development methods, including Scrum, automated testing, and continuous integration.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or nuclear command-and-control systems governed by standards such as DO‑178C, MIL‑STD‑498, or equivalent.
  • Experience in Agile development methods, including Scrum, automated testing, and continuous integration (preferred).
  • Exposure to Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
