Job description

Ameritas is seeking anIT Internto drive the business by providing desk side support for IT endpoint equipment. This is accomplished through installation, maintenance, and problem diagnosis of PC hardware, third-party and proprietary software, LANs, and servers in a timely and professional manner via telephone and email communication, and hands-on support, and other tasks as assigned. This position will combine a basic level understanding of IT and network concepts, with a strong orientation towards customer service, to provide end users a great experience and resolution to their issues and requests.

This position requires daily in-office presence at Lincoln, NE location.

This internship will begin ASAP (late summer or early fall 2026). This is not a summer internship, as we are seeking an intern for a year-round experience working 12 months (or more). Hours are flexible and can be near full time during the summer, and part time (15-25) during the school year.

What You Do

  • Execute associate moves with building services.
  • Prepare and deploy PC equipment.
  • Provide basic break/fix support for printers and copiers.
  • Follow up on PC equipment to be returned by remote associates.
  • Assist with the disposal of retired equipment.
  • Perform simple tasks in support of assigned projects and work orders.
  • Document, track, escalate and attain resolution of Incidents and service requests, using the corporate IT service management tool.
  • Respond to service requests in IT Service Management tool.
  • This position does involve moving computer equipment including monitors and desktop CPU's. The ability to lift 30 lbs. will regularly be required in this role.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in customer service with professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot will be needed in this position.
  • Must be actively enrolled in an IT degree program at an accredited institution. Both associate and bachelor level undergraduate students will be considered.
  • Interest in IT infrastructure, endpoint support, engineering, or security is desired.
  • Available work hours will fall between 7:00am to 5:00pm (Central Time)
  • Able to commit to a 12-month (or longer) internship with hours including:
    • Part time during the school year (15-25 hours)
    • Full time during the summer (30-40 hours)
