Job description

The Opportunity

We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Co-op to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will support the development and testing of our energy storage products while gaining hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers.

You will assist the electrical team with product development activities including testing, prototyping, documentation, and design work. This is an excellent opportunity for a student looking to apply their academic knowledge to real-world hardware development in the clean energy sector.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist the electrical engineering team in developing and improving energy storage products
  • Build and maintain electrical test benches for product validation and testing
  • Assemble and modify electrical components including wire harnessing, soldering, crimping, and circuit board assembly
  • Support the design of PCBs and electrical harnesses for future products
  • Develop test plans, execute testing, and write technical reports
  • Maintain clear and organized engineering documentation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers to ensure products meet safety, certification, and performance requirements

The Student we're looking for:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong preference for students with Design Team or previous co-op experience
  • Career interest in hardware development, electronics, and energy systems
  • Hands-on experience with soldering, circuit boards, wiring, system integration or prototyping (academic or project-based experience welcome)
  • Basic knowledge of PCB design tools or electrical design software is helpful
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment
