The position works with limited supervision and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Product Management, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and validate electrical, electronic, and embedded systems.
  • Lead electrical engineering activities for new product development and product enhancements by way of phase-gate development framework.
  • Develop analog, digital, power distribution, sensor, control, and communication circuitry.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
  • Perform circuit simulation, prototyping, system integration, and functional testing of components and integrated systems.
  • Analyze and resolve complex electrical and system-level issues.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Research and develop prototypes to proactively address emerging trends within the Telecommunications industry.
  • Support regulatory compliance and product certification activities including UL, FCC, CSA, TIA, ISO/IEC and other applicable standards.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) requirements.
  • Support manufacturing processes related to assembly and test of sub-assemblies and finished goods.
  • Evaluate and approve alternative or second-source of components.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations.
  • Support engineering change management and continuous improvement programs.
  • Develop test methods, validation protocols, engineering reports and product specifications.
