Multi-Media Journalist (MMJ) & Content Developer
WBTW a Nexstar Media Group station and the market news leader in the Myrtle Beach/Florence, SC region, is seeking a highly motivated, Multi-Media Journalist and Content Developer. This dynamic role requires a passionate storyteller who can produce, shoot, write, voice, edit, and deliver compelling news production content across all platforms. The ideal candidate transitions seamlessly between traditional broadcast reporting and modern digital content development, ensuring our local coverage is immediate, engaging, and optimized for TV, web, mobile apps, and social media.
  • Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Reporting: Research, enterprise, shoot, write, voice, and edit high-impact news stories for daily broadcasts under tight deadlines.
  • Digital Content Development: Write, package, and optimize breaking news stories, features, and creative "digital extras" for the station's website and mobile platforms.
  • Audience Engagement: Actively build a loyal local audience by managing social media channels, interacting with viewers, readers, and tracking traffic patterns via metrics tools.
  • Source Cultivation: Gather and verify factual information by developing reliable community contacts, conducting field interviews, and reviewing public records.
  • Creative Pitching: Participate in daily editorial meetings to pitch unique, community-focused story ideas and discuss priority placement with news managers.
  • Technical Execution: Operate field live transmission units (TVU) and gather high-quality visuals and natural sound.
  • Required Qualifications & Skills
