Job description

Position Overview:
The Central Build Operations Team is the group that gets called when the business is launching a new facility, improving performance, or helping a site get back on track. As the Senior Manager, Outbound Operations, you'll work side-by-side with site leadership teams across the country, providing hands-on support during startups, stabilizations, recoveries, and operational transformations.
This role is ideal for a highly experienced multi-site e-commerce leader who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, developing leaders, and driving results in fast-paced environments. Success in this position comes from bringing deep expertise in large-scale e-commerce operations, a passion for coaching teams, and the ability to quickly assess opportunities, develop action plans, and deliver sustainable improvements.
Location: This role must be located near the White Haven, PA, Frackville, PA, Kenosha, WI, Ocala FL, Salt Lake City, or Henrico, VA area. We are hiring for one IB role and one OB role.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with occasional nights and weekends as needed to support business operations and new launches.
Travel Specifics: 80%, Weekly to any of our US operations. This travel requirement is non-negotiable.
Competitive Total Rewards: Competitive salary of $104,000-$135,000 plus bonus, along with comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, generous PTO, sick time, and company holidays. Compensation is based on experience, skills, and education.
Key Responsibilities
Startup Deployments & New Facility Launches
  • Lead startup readiness activities, go-live execution, and stabilization efforts for new warehouse and fulfillment operations.
  • Partner with site leadership teams to establish operational processes, labor strategies, training plans, performance expectations, and execution standards.
  • Provide hands-on operational support during launch periods to ensure successful transitions into steady-state operations.

Operational Recovery & Turnaround Management
  • Deploy to underperforming facilities to assess operational gaps, identify root causes, and develop comprehensive recovery action plans.
  • Lead execution of turnaround strategies focused on improving service, productivity, quality, safety, inventory accuracy, and customer performance.
  • Track progress and ensure sustainable improvements through structured follow-up and accountability mechanisms.

Outbound Operations Subject Matter Expertise
  • Serve as the organization's functional expert for outbound operations.
  • Provide guidance and coaching on fulfillment execution, workflow design, labor deployment, planning, process adherence, and operational best practices.
  • Support site leaders in identifying and eliminating barriers impacting operational performance.

Leadership Coaching & Capability Development
  • Coach General Managers, Operations Managers, Area Managers, Supervisors, and frontline leadership teams.
  • Develop leadership capability through training, mentorship, performance management, and operational best-practice deployment.
  • Reinforce accountability, ownership, and execution excellence across supported facilities.
  • Continuous Improvement & Standardization
  • Drive operational consistency and compliance with network standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, throughput, labor efficiency, and customer outcomes.
  • Lead implementation of best practices and sustainable process improvements across multiple facilities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, IT, Safety, Learning & Development, Human Resources, and Project Teams to support new facility launches, system implementations, operational recovery efforts, performance improvement initiatives, and process optimization projects. Leverage operational data and performance metrics to identify opportunities, develop action plans, and drive sustainable business results across the network.
  • Analyze operational metrics and performance trends to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Develop action plans supported by data and measurable objectives.
  • Monitor progress against operational KPIs and ensure achievement of performance goals.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications for Internal and External Applicants:
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of higher education.
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in a e-commerce operational environment.
  • 3+ years leading large operational teams through multiple levels of leadership.
  • Experience operating within a large-scale, highly standardized multi-site e-commerce network, utilizing established operating systems, performance metrics, and standardized processes.
  • Subject matter expertise in outbound operations, including fulfillment execution, labor planning, workflow management, productivity improvement, and service-level performance.
  • Proven experience leading multiple simultaneous facility launches, startup deployments, operational recoveries, and transformation initiatives, including the development and execution of action plans that drive measurable results.
  • Proven experience serving as a launch leader, operational deployment leader, or functional SME for three or more large-scale e-commerce facility launches.
  • Experience supporting multiple facilities simultaneously and driving operational results outside of direct-reporting relationships through influence, coaching, and execution leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess operational performance, identify root causes, and implement sustainable improvements in productivity, quality, service, and labor efficiency.
  • Demonstrated experience to rapidly assess unfamiliar operations, identify performance barriers, prioritize corrective actions, and deliver sustainable operational improvements in compressed timelines.
  • Experience coaching and developing operational leaders while influencing results across teams and functions.
  • Advanced understanding of operational processes, including inventory flow, picking, packing, sorting, shipping, workforce planning, and operational controls.
  • Demonstrated success balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution in fast-paced, metrics-driven environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and continuous improvement skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% domestically.

  • Experience supporting multiple simultaneous startup deployments from launch through stabilization.
  • Experience serving as a subject matter expert, deployment leader, or operational support leader during critical business events.
  • Experience working within a customer-driven e-commerce environment with high-volume operational demands.
