Job Title: Junior Estimator – Commercial Drywall
Location: Savannah, GA OR Charleston, SC
Position Summary
An established commercial construction firm is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Estimator to support the preconstruction team in preparing accurate cost estimates for drywall and related scopes. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in construction estimating, with opportunities for growth and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing quantity takeoffs for drywall, metal studs, insulation, ceilings, and related systems
- Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Solicit and track vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Help compile and organize bid proposals and supporting documentation
- Maintain and update cost databases and estimating software
- Communicate with project managers, estimators, and field teams for scope clarification
- Participate in project handoff meetings after award
- Ensure deadlines are met for bid submissions
