Fueling Your Passion

As a Sr. Advisor within Downstream Chemicals Service Delivery, you will provide advanced technical support across assigned districts-including Canada, the East Coast, and Great Lakes regions. You will serve as a field subject matter expert (SME) for Process technologies and applications, supporting customers in optimizing major crude process units, chemical treatment programs, and operational performance. Your leadership will influence job planning, execution, analysis, and continuous improvement, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant service delivery.

As a Sr. Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading Process technical support efforts for existing and new downstream refining accounts across assigned districts, ensuring flawless execution from preplanning through postjob analysis.
  • Collaborating closely with Service Delivery, Sales, and Technology teams to design technical job programs, including risk mitigation and performance optimization strategies.
  • Providing ondemand technical support for Process applications, including recommendations for new or enhanced chemical treatment programs.
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with key customer stakeholders at both the corporate and field levels.
  • Identifying opportunities and collaborating with field teams to drive technical projects, innovative solutions, and valuecreation initiatives.
  • Participating in industry forums, conferences, and technical committees as a representative of Baker Hughes.
  • Conducting annual technical audits and health checks for assigned accounts to ensure compliance and operational integrity.
  • Supporting Operations, Technology, and Manufacturing teams with Process chemistry portfolio needs, including deployment and field validation of new technologies.
  • Delivering technical presentations and training sessions for customers, field personnel, and internal teams.
  • Performing job hazard and incident potential assessments to ensure safe application of Process technologies.
  • Supporting field incident reviews and participating in investigations as required to ensure full endtoend analysis and corrective actions.
  • Leading special projects, product line initiatives, and other responsibilities assigned by the business.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Have a minimum of 15+ years of downstream refining experience, including 10+ years in refining Process applications.
  • Possess strong knowledge of crude process units, related chemical technologies, digital tools, and applicable industry standards.
  • Have 10+ years of field, operations, or application support experience within refining process technologies.
  • Be capable of working independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to audiences at all experience levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • Be willing to travel up to 50% based on customer and operational needs.
  • Provide technical mentorship and support for developing team members.
  • Be available for oncall support outside of normal business hours.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead, plan, coordinate, and deliver projects and programs successfully.

The annual pay scale for this position is between $136,000.00 - $252,540.00.

Candidates for this role (office-based/ hybrid/ remote) must be located in or near the locations displayed above. The pay range/scale displayed above represents Baker Hughes' good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position at the time of this posting and applies to the possible locations for this position. Baker Hughes will issue a non-bias competitive offer; the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hires, full-time salaries in some U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. Where an applicant will ultimately fall within the pay range/scale depends on a variety of factors, including, for example, geographic work location, skillset, qualifications, internal pay alignment, level of experience, and demonstrated performance over time.
