Job description

Overview
The Associate Scientist/Engineer is part of the upstream process development team responsible for the development, scale-up, and transfer of mammalian cell-culture (CHO) for GMP manufacturing. The Associate Scientist/Engineer will be responsible for maintaining mammalian cell lines to produce research and pre-clinical products and ensuring scale-up to pilot plant manufacturing cGMP.
Responsibilities
  • Screen cell lines and clones for optimal protein production
  • Monitor cell growth
  • Identify growth medium requirements and develop feeding strategies for scaling up from development to pilot-scale manufacturing
  • Produce mAbs and bsAbs for pre-clinical testing
  • General lab and equipment maintenance
  • Media and buffer preparation
  • Opportunities to cross-train in downstream and analytical process development activities
  • Ability to analyze and summarize scientific data
  • Maintain lab notebook and adhere to good documentation practices (GDP)

Qualifications
  • A.S or Certificate in Biotechnology, Biology, Bioengineering, or related field is required. B.S. is preferred
  • Practical experience in aseptic technique
  • Mammalian cell culture experience preferred
  • GMP experience is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility in work hours, including availability for weekends as needed
  • Ability to work individually and collaborate with others
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment
  • Willing to travel occasionally

Compensation
The expected base salary range for this position is $57,750 to $75,000

Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary bonus, long term incentive, 401(K) plan with employer contribution, health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.
