UCT is looking for a talented Process Engineer II to join us in Scarborough, ME!
The Process Engineer II will develop and optimize economical industrial processes to make the huge range of products on which modern society depends. This role provides sustaining engineering support to wet and mechanical cleaning operations. Responsible for maintenance of process SOP's and for processing personnel training. Assists with new process development and continuous improvement activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains eRecipes, process work instructions, SOPs, etc. as necessary to support production workload.
  • Develops/maintains/evaluates production tooling (fixtures, baskets, etc.) required for efficient, effective part processing.
  • Monitors and maintains production equipment (tanks, pumps, heaters, etc.) and participates in equipment replacement/specification efforts as required.
  • Ensures compliance with existing operating procedures and recommends revisions as appropriate.
  • Monitors effectiveness of production processes and support problem resolution as it relates to technical evaluation of parts processed.
  • Monitors compliance with the material specification database for process materials (chemistry, gases, blast media, etc.).
  • Monitors/maintains process controls (pressures, temperatures, concentration, contamination, etc.) through SPC. Ensures that process measurements fall within the control limits and the overall process CPKs comply with the divisional limits.
  • Maintains/monitors work environments to ensure they are adequate for the tasks being performed, preserve safe work practices, and meet housekeeping requirements.
  • Develops/assists in development of training materials, examinations, agendas, and schedules required for personnel training/certification.
  • Participate in customer audits, complaint resolution, costs analysis/time study as they relate to sales/marketing efforts.
  • Participates in internal/external audits, CAPA resolution, defect/problem analysis, preventive action activities, etc.
  • Participates in established committees as assigned (technical committee, safety committee, environmental committee, etc.)
  • Supervises site monthly qualification cleanliness testing and parament process controls to ensures that process results fall between the specification limits.
  • Liaises with Engineering Manager or System Engineering Group to ensure effective procedures and BKMs are implemented at the sites.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Assessing processes for their relevance and assessing the adequacy of engineering equipment.
  • Review existing data (including lab analysis) to see if more research and information need to be collected.
  • Designing, installing and commissioning new production units, monitoring modifications and upgrades, and troubleshooting existing processes.
  • Conducting process development experiments to scale in a laboratory environment as directed by the Director of R&D as required.
  • Preparing reports, flow diagrams and charts.
  • Working closely with other engineers to monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of a plant;
  • Ensuring the process works at the optimum level, at the right rate and quality of output, in order to meet customer needs.
  • Working closely with other specialists, including scientists responsible for the quality control of raw materials, intermediates and finished products; engineers responsible for plant maintenance; commercial colleagues on product specifications and production schedules; and the operating crew.

Educational/Certification Requirement:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.

Experience Requirement:
Work Experience:
  • 0-5+ years related experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment or related industry.
