The Position
Scientist - Reagent Health and Performance/Surveillance
Department Summary
This is a role in Reagent Health and Performance/Surveillance in the Oncology Assay Development organization.
Responsible for reagent product monitoring and risk based testing, including real time stability testing to support expiration dating of Ventana reagents. Work closely across Ventana functions, including: Life Cycle, Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Global Organizations.
Individual Contributor role: This individual will support commercialization of new products and post-launch monitoring of on-market products, risk evaluation of the on market portfolio, designing fit for purpose testing to assess product risks, drive failure investigations.
This role is based in Tucson, AZ, on site.
The Opportunity
  • Research & Innovation: Executes R&D activities to develop new products or processes, identifying technical challenges and creating potentially patentable components.
  • Project Execution: Plans and conducts experiments using advanced scientific knowledge and DOE (Design of Experiments) to meet defined project goals.
  • Data Analysis & Improvement: Evaluates experimental results to form conclusions, implementing process improvements and ensuring "Quality First Time" standards.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Participates in cross-functional teams, shares expertise with colleagues, and delivers technical presentations to various stakeholders.
  • Strategic Support: Contributes to project planning and experimental design under the guidance of senior leadership while suggesting ways to optimize workflows.

Who You Are (Required)
  • Ph.D. in Biology or related field or
  • Master's Degree in Biology or related field + 3 years related experience or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology or related field + 8 years related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrates potential for technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought.
  • Strong understanding of scientific principles and concepts.
  • Applies advanced technical writing skills to produce reports and documents.

The expected salary range for this position based on Arizona is 82 700,00 - 153 700,00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
