We are currently hiring a Director in Business Development for our Proprietary Platforms & Autonomy portfolio. This position leads the business development team supporting pursuits and new business capture across a portfolio of domestic and international training, simulation products and services, collaborative autonomy, and integrated system solutions for proprietary platforms.

The successful candidate will be a proven leader with deep experience in new business pursuit and capture, and have a strong background in US Department of Defense (DoD) and military services warfighting CONOPS and killchains. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of the US DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) processes, and be comfortable interacting with DoD subject matter experts in all areas of the acquisition process. Experience at the military Service level in organizations such as CJCS, Army Staff, USAF ACC, USN OPNAV, FLEET/TYCOM/MAJCOM/CECOM is highly desired, as is experience in Special Access Program environments.

Preferred business locations are McKinney, TX, Fort Wayne, IN and Cedar Rapids, IA.

What You Will Do

  • Have responsibility for annual Orders pipeline supporting our Proprietary Platforms business, with a focus on competitive pursuits

  • Collaboratively lead multi-functional capture efforts and go to market strategies within the Proprietary Programs & Autonomy business

  • Build and mature a small team of business development professionals supporting the Proprietary Platforms portfolio as a functional manager

  • Directly plan and manage New Business Investment funds

  • Develop and Lead strategies within the Value Stream triad (Program Management, Engineering and Business Development) to shape, define, pursue and capture new business, including: business cases and strategies, gate and milestone reviews, competitive intelligence and price-to-win analyses, market shaping and influencing and management of customer relationships

  • Be responsible for developing, forecasting, and capturing new/existing opportunities and maintaining relationships with new and existing military service customers

  • Develop, present and articulate compelling business growth opportunities that include market and competitive analysis, and price to win strategies via decision point reviews

  • Continually explore the environment for business and strategic growth opportunities

  • Prepare and support company profiles on competitors and potential acquisition candidates, including financial analyses, as well as Strategic Financial Plans and Annual Operations Planning

  • Bring vast experience and professional networks with senior internal and external personnel in area of expertise

  • Travel will be approximately 25-50%

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience

The salary range for this role is 186,200 USD - 353,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
