Job description

About the Role

Product Engineers at Dome own outcomes, not just implementations. You will work across the stack to build software that solves real problems for customers, making architectural decisions, shipping code, and iterating based on what you learn. The boundary between product thinking and engineering execution does not exist here; you operate across both.

This is an AI-native engineering role. You understand how AI reshapes the development lifecycle and have already embraced it. You specify intent clearly, delegate implementation, and focus your judgment on evaluation and refinement. You may be early in your career, but you have seen what this way of working unlocks and you are not going back to traditional approaches.

This role is designed for someone with strong fundamentals, high learning velocity, and the drive to work across the full surface area of a distributed system. You will not be pigeonholed into one area. Over time, you will work on control plane services, infrastructure integration, data pipelines, and tooling, depending on where the team needs support and where your interests develop. We are looking for raw capability and speed rather than a specific specialization. If you have the foundations and the drive, we will help you build depth.

What You'll Do

You will build the platform that enterprises trust to manage their agentic systems, contributing across backend services, infrastructure, and tooling as priorities shift. You will own features end-to-end, shipping production code and learning from how it performs. You will develop distributed systems intuition by building them: state reconciliation, failure handling, API design. You will work directly with senior engineers and founders, absorbing context and contributing to architecture discussions. You will help establish the technical foundations and engineering culture of a company in its earliest stages.

What You'll Bring
  • You have strong fundamentals in computer science or software engineering, whether from a degree, bootcamp, or self-directed learning.
  • You can write clean code in at least one language and are ready to learn Go if you do not already know it.
  • You understand how computers and networks actually work: processes, memory, TCP, HTTP, DNS.
  • You have built something, whether a side project, open source contribution, or internship work, that demonstrates you can ship software.
  • You have adopted an AI-native development workflow and can show what it enables you to deliver.
  • You use AI tools to specify, build, and validate, and you are faster and more capable because of it.
  • You debug methodically rather than randomly changing things until something works.
  • You communicate clearly, ask good questions, and work effectively with others.
What We're Not Looking For

We are not looking for years of professional experience or expertise in our specific stack. We are not looking for someone who needs detailed instructions for every task. We are not looking for credentials over capability. If you have been writing software seriously for a year and can out-build people with five years of experience, we want to talk to you.

How We Work

We are building a company for the long term, not optimizing for unsustainable sprints. We believe the best work comes from professionals who have the space to think deeply, maintain their lives outside of work, and bring their full capabilities to hard problems. We are remote-friendly and trust our team to manage their time and energy effectively. We value clarity over consensus, direct feedback over politics, and shipping over theorizing.

What We Offer

We provide competitive compensation including meaningful equity. You are joining as a founder-level contributor. We offer comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage. We support flexible working arrangements with a remote-friendly culture. We provide the equipment and tools you need to do your best work.

Equal Opportunity

Dome Systems is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate candidates based on capability, not credentials. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to building a diverse team.
