APSS- Field Service Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Field Service Technician will install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain integrated security and low voltage systems at customer sites. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with video surveillance, access control, weapon detections systems, and distributed antenna systems (DAS). This role requires strong technical ability, professionalism, and excellent customer service skills.
Essential Functions

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot:
    • Avigilon camera systems and video management platforms
    • Evolv Technology weapons detection systems
    • Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
    • Access control systems including card readers, door hardware, controllers, and associated software
  • Perfom preventative maintenance, inspections, and systems upgrades
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and system documentation
  • Install and terminate low-voltage cables including CAT5e/CAT6, fiber, and coaxial cable
  • Configure IP-based devices and troubleshoot basic network infrastructure issues
  • Test and verify system functionality to ensure compliance with customer and manufacturer standards
  • Provide onsite technical support and customer training as needed
  • Complete service reports, documentation, and work orders accurately and on time
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle inventory
  • Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices

Work Environment/Physical Demands
This position may require long hours and out of town travel to a multitude of locations. New construction sites, schools, offices and factory environments. This position also operates in various weather environments outdoors and indoors. The physical demands are driven by the needs of our employees and customers. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 100 pounds.

Locally around the Little Rock, AR area.
Required Education, Experience & Abilities
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years industry experience

Preferred Certifications
  • Manufacturer certifications in Avigilon or other security platforms
  • Low-voltage or access control certifications
  • OSHA 10/30 certification
  • Networking certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or equivalent
