The Basics:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial setting required
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings/schematics
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, overhead cranes, cooling water circuits, and conveyor systems
  • Ability to read and understand hydraulic and mechanical drawings to include P&ID's
  • Ability to perform “Hot-Work” – Burning, welding, grinding
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)

The Extras:

  • Internship or Associates Degree preferred
  • Experience operating mobile equipment preferred (aerial lifts, forklifts, mobile cranes)
  • Experience in the steel industry preferred
  • Experience in the Steelmaking industry preferred

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

During Operations:

  • Performs maintenance inspections and repairs including, but not limited to, mechanical components, water systems, belt and conveyor systems, mechanical drive systems, hydraulics systems, cranes, and baghouses within the Steelmaking Facility
  • Analysis, solving, and reporting of mechanical problems and failures
  • Support the development and implementation of continuous improvement projects
  • Ensure proper safety, environmental, and quality of asset area(s)

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Industrial/Steelmaking mill environment
  • Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL
  • Must be willing to work either a Day Shift Monday – Friday or Rotating 12 hour shifts to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Shifts will vary depending on business needs
  • People with heart pacemakers or any other electronic medical device are strictly prohibited from entering the furnace area. These devices include implanted pacemakers or implantable cardiac defibrillators where the device may be affected.  Individuals identified to potentially work in EMF affected areas should identify the specific device they have as part of a medical history and manufacturer’s recommendations should be followed.
