OVERVIEW
 
The Venue Technician ("Venue Tech") works closely with the Venue Technician Lead to ensure a best-in-class gameplay experience for Level99 guests. You will work in the trenches, hands-on, to assist with the maintenance, repair, improvement, and replacement of Level99's attractions and Entertainment facilities. The Venue Technician is passionate about getting the details right, meeting guest needs before being asked, and ensuring a safe, clean and well maintained venue.
 
A Level99 Venue Tech has honesty and personal integrity that is above reproach, prefers a joyful and positive approach to challenging situations, chooses humility over the need to "be right," and in all things acts as though you are the Owner and Operator of their venue.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
  • Troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems, sets, wiring, facilities items and other systems throughout the venue.
  • Repair and maintain Level99's facility and attraction elements, using skills/techniques that may include:
  • Expert craftsmanship in a variety of materials including wood, metal, plastics, etc.
  • Painting, surfacing, and refinishing, including decorative and scenic elements
  • Practical wiring of electro-mechanical devices and systems
  • Troubleshooting of PCs, networks, micro-controllers, and other electronic equipment
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge in the safe and efficient use of all relevant shop hand and power tools
  • Studying and interpreting shop drawings, sketches, wiring diagrams, and other design documents
  • A working knowledge of general facility maintenance practices such as plumbing, HVAC, wiring, etc.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining documentation, procedures, and the attraction maintenance log to ensure the proper, efficient, and safe operation of the attractions and the Entertainment space as a whole
  • Keep individual workspaces, and the building as a whole, clean, organized, and efficient
  • Perform preventative maintenance and weekly inspections/upkeep for Level99 attractions as needed
  • Maintain an organized, prioritized, continuously updated, personal task list, with estimated completion dates
  • Research, specify, and purchase products and solutions for recurring venue maintenance items
  • Prioritize personal safety and the safety of coworkers and guests in the day-to-day execution of duties
  • Continuously uphold Level99 brand and visual standards across all parts of the business, including product, experience, graphic design, and display standards, as well as environmental cleanliness and organization
  • Ensure guest safety within the venue, continuously monitoring and addressing any foreseeable risks to guests' health and welfare
  • Take initiative, seeing what needs to be done and assembling the resources to accomplish self-determined goals, in continual pursuit of improvement of our guest experience and venue performance  
  • Follow the direction of supervisors and manage time effectively
  • Maintain a positive, upbeat, pro-active attitude and inspire the same in fellow team members
  • Occasional travel to facilitate the opening of new venues
  • Other duties, as assigned
MUST-HAVE SKILLS
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which will include days, nights, weekends and holidays as well as emergency responsiveness to pressing technical issues as required
  • Able to work ten hour-plus shifts, plus ability to stand, sit, squat or walk for extended periods of time, walk up and down stairs/ladders, and read/interpret technical manuals and instructions
  • Able to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, calmly and effectively work with a leader under tight deadlines, manage multiple projects, and work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and complete assigned tasks during operating hours, while in the midst of guests
  • Operational knowledge of technical equipment inclusive of rigging, carpentry, sound, and lighting
  • Experience with the safe operation of power tools, hand tools, ladders, lifts, and electricity
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • High integrity and professionalism
  • High School education or equivalent  
  • Understands, utilizes and embraces new technology and its implementation into our operation, with specific knowledge in, but not limited to, the Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)

  • Willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and get into the details as a team player with a "get things done" proactive attitude
OTHER DESIRABLE (BUT NOT NECESSARY) SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a related tech/maintenance capacity
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Production, Design, Theatre Tech, Engineering, or other related degree
