Systems Administrator & Staff Specialist
The Systems Administrator & Staff Specialist ensures the stability, scalability, and security of enterprise infrastructure by managing virtualization, storage, and backup environments. This role focuses on proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and disaster recovery to support business continuity and strategic initiatives.
What You'll Do
Virtual Environment Management
• Monitor virtual infrastructure for performance and reliability issues.
• Apply updates and patches to maintain security and compliance.
• Forecast future capacity needs and provide recommendations to management.
• Support enterprise projects requiring virtualization resources.
• Plan and implement disaster recovery strategies for virtual environments.
Storage Environment Management
• Monitor storage systems for failures and performance issues.
• Apply updates and security enhancements to maintain integrity.
• Assess future storage requirements and recommend scalable solutions.
• Support enterprise projects requiring storage resources.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for storage systems.
Backup and Restore Management
• Oversee backup and restore processes to ensure data integrity.
• Apply updates and maintain compliance with security standards.

This includes, but is not limited to, executing risk/control procedures daily, identifying potential risks and reporting them via the Self-Identified Risk Portal (SIRP), collaborating with control owners, and maintaining accurate audit/assessment evidence. Whether or not your specific role directly involves risk management activities, understanding and adhering to these principles is essential to the overall integrity and outcomes of AgFirst.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7-9 years of experience in technical infrastructure roles
  • Expertise in virtualization technologies (preferably VMware).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with enterprise backup and restore solutions (e.g., Commvault).
  • Ability to plan and implement disaster recovery strategies.
