Overview:
Talcott's Summer Internship Program is designed to provide students with a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to immerse themselves in real-world challenges. As part of this ten-week fast-paced summer program, interns will engage in meaningful projects guided by training in market dynamics and industry fundamentals. In addition to hands-on learning, Talcott's internship program offers a comprehensive schedule of educational workshops, peer networking events, and direct exposure to senior leadership, designed to support interns' personal and professional development.
Talcott's Risk Internship program is designed to give qualified candidates an opportunity to be part of an award-winning Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team. During the internship, you will gain first-hand business experience and valuable on-the-job training, have the chance to sharpen your technical, analytical, communication, and leadership skills, and network with risk and actuarial professionals at various levels in the organization. Interns will be placed in one of the following functions within ERM: Risk Governance and Reporting, Financial Risk Oversight, Operational Risk Oversight. At the beginning of the internship, interns will be assigned a project, directly or indirectly linked to ERM's strategic priorities. They will present to our team at the end of the internship. The selected Risk Intern shall work on a hybrid schedule in our Hartford, CT. office.
Qualifications:
  • A rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Math, Accounting, Insurance or Economics
  • Candidates with a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or better will be given preference
  • Prior internship experience is preferred
  • Innovative and collaborative problem solver
  • Independent judgment with strong analytical and risk assessment skills
  • Ability to partner with other functional areas such as Finance, IT, Actuarial, and Operations
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel, including formulas and functions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive individual and quick learner
  • General coding language experience is a plus

Compensation:
This range represents the minimum and maximum annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range. The base pay is based on factors including but not limited to experience, competence, and demonstration of proficiencies essential for the role. The base pay is just one component of Talcott's total annual compensation for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, long-term incentives and recognition.
