Mid-Continent Group is accepting resumes for Underwriting Internship candidates starting employment in May through the summer of 2027 with a hybrid work schedule in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Underwriting Internship program includes a combination of activities aimed at giving the intern a full understanding of the Underwriting department and how they interact with other functions within the organization. The program is a potential pathway to a career in insurance. Internships typically consist of a 10-week period over the summer.
Responsibilities:
Within the Underwriting team, interns will obtain experience in a variety of underwriting functions, including evaluating and analyzing risk of applicants, insureds, and books of business. Responsibilities will include:
  • Assist underwriters in evaluating and analyzing risk for commercial general liability insurance policies.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor analysis.
  • Support the preparation of underwriting reports and documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on risk assessment and policy development.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information for underwriting decisions.
  • Assist in the review and processing of insurance applications and renewals.
  • Learn and utilize underwriting software and tools to support daily tasks.
