SCOPE OF WORK

In this role, you will directlyimpactestimating accuracy and bid development by performing document reviews, quantity takeoffs, and coordination with vendors and internal teams. You will support the estimating process by developing technical competency, ensuring accuracy in deliverables, and contributing to competitive proposals that align with Moss's operational capabilities and support successful project acquisition.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure safety considerations are built into project estimates,logistics, and site visits

  • Perform document reviews to understand plans, specifications, and the scope of work

  • Draft RFIs; ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with supervisors

  • Maintain organization of project documents

  • Capture meeting minutes, action items, and distribute within 24 hours of meetings

  • Compile estimates, summaries, qualifications, and assumptions in line with templates and standards

  • Assemble addenda, project summaries, storyboards, and backup information for bid deliverables

  • Performaccurate, detailed quantity takeoffs and verify consistency with drawings and bid strategy

  • Support memo and basis of bid preparation by collecting and organizing relevant inputs

  • Ensure the established bid and bid review process is followed

  • Prepare and distribute pre-reads 24 hours prior to meetings

  • Send pricing requests to vendors and subcontractors promptly after kickoff

  • Assign and track due dates for vendor/sub responses; escalate delays as needed

  • Support pricing review (leveling, checklist compliance,identifyinggaps)

  • Collect and analyze vendor/sub data to supportaccuratescope coverage and reduce risk

  • Collaborate with Leads and Managers to align on bid philosophy and strategy

  • Engage with vendors/subs professionally,maintainingaccuratecontact data and NDAs

  • Participate actively in kickoff meetings, site visits, weekly check-ins, and review sessions

  • Support effective team communication by issuing recaps, logs, and status updates

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic understanding of estimating processes, construction drawings, safety, and quality standards

  • Understands assigned tasks, how they support estimate development, and when to escalate issues

  • Basic understanding of scope budgets and vendor/sub pricing inputs

  • Knowledge of standard Estimating tools

  • Drafts clear RFIs, meeting notes, and summaries

  • Performsaccuratetakeoffs and data entry in estimating tools

  • Identifiesdata gaps and escalates potential risks quickly

  • Builds working relationships with vendors, subs, and internal peers

  • Completes deliverables with accuracy and attention to detail; seeks clarification when needed

  • Demonstrate a learning mindset; seek feedback and incorporate guidance

  • Adjusts to schedule changes, addenda, or evolving project requirements

  • Troubleshoots document or data inconsistencies with support, escalating appropriately

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM, and/or 1+ years in estimating or project management roles (internships included)
