Job description

Praytell is a creative communications agency made up of strategic minds, spirited hearts and people with a strong instinctive recoil from anything remotely boring. We create culture-driven, integrated work that earns attention, sparks conversation and makes people... well, give a shit. But more than that, we're a team of curious builders, thoughtful challengers and collaborative problem-solvers who believe the best work starts with a simple question: what if we?
What if we pushed the idea further? Solved the problem differently? Built something better?
Our work moves fast, evolves constantly and rarely fits neatly inside a box - which is exactly how we like it. The people who thrive here ask questions, chase ideas, spot opportunities and care enough to go beyond the brief. They don't wait for a perfect roadmap or a tap on the shoulder - they're energized by figuring things out, making things better and helping shape what comes next.
We hold ourselves to a high bar, but we're not pretending to be a perfect agency filled with perfect people doing perfect work 100% of the time. We're humans. Sometimes the work runs late. Sometimes the process is still being built. Sometimes there isn't a policy, playbook or perfect answer for every little thing. What we do have is a genuine commitment to getting better - evolving how we work, support our people and build the kind of agency we want to be, together.
So that's our promise to you. If curiosity drives you, ownership excites you and "what if we?" feels more like a life mantra than a question - we'd love to hear from you.
The Opportunity
Overview:
  • Dates: Tuesday, September 8 - Friday, February 26 (six-month internship)
  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm local time, with a commitment of 40 hours/week
  • Location: Chicago or New York. This is a hybrid role, with interns expected to work from the office approximately once per week and attend in-person client events, activations or team needs as they come up.
  • Pay: $19/hour, with overtime eligibility
  • Benefits: Since you're expected to work more than 30 hours/week, you will be eligible for medical insurance. You will also receive 40 hours of paid sick time, which will be frontloaded at the start of your employment.
  • Commitment: This is designed as a full-time internship, so candidates should be available during standard business hours throughout the six-month program
  • Post-Internship: While there may be an opportunity to transition into a full-time role following the internship, it is not guaranteed and will depend on individual performance and company needs

As an Analytics & Reporting Intern, you will:
  • Support analytics and reporting across social media, PR, digital and integrated client accounts
  • Work alongside analysts and account teams to help build monthly and quarterly performance reports that measure our work and its impact
  • Gather, organize and QA data from social platforms, earned media tools and other digital sources to make sure reporting is accurate and consistent
  • Help analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, patterns and what may be driving performance
  • Analyze social content and earned media coverage to help understand what performed well, what didn't and why
  • Help turn data into clear takeaways, charts and visualizations for client-ready reports and presentations
  • Work with tools and data sources like Meltwater, Meta Business Manager, Cision, Tagger and Google Trends to gather and analyze performance data
  • Support competitive analyses, share of voice reports, benchmarking, audience research and new business projects
  • Research competitors, audiences, cultural trends and industry conversations to add context to performance data
  • Build and maintain spreadsheets, trackers and other tools used to organize and analyze data
  • Support dashboard testing by validating data, testing functionality and documenting potential issues
  • Learn how teams establish KPIs and use measurement to evaluate PR, social and integrated campaigns
  • Explore AI and LLM tools to support research, data analysis and more efficient analytics workflows
  • Help test new analytics tools, processes and AI-powered workflows and share feedback on what works
  • Support research around AI search and how brands appear across LLMs and emerging search platforms
  • Participate in team meetings and client calls to see firsthand how data and insights inform PR, social and integrated brand strategies
  • Collaborate with teammates across departments, including Integrated Communications, Influencer, Creative and Strategy
What You Bring
  • No prior professional analytics experience required! We're looking for someone who is curious about data, eager to learn and excited to understand the story behind the numbers. Previous internships, relevant coursework, research or personal projects are a plus, but not required.
  • You're a recent graduate or early in your career and interested in analytics, consumer insights, marketing, social media, PR or brand communications
  • You're comfortable working in Google Sheets and/or Excel and using spreadsheets to organize and analyze information
  • You enjoy working with numbers, but you're equally interested in understanding why something happened and what can be learned from it
  • You have strong attention to detail and naturally notice when numbers or information don't look quite right
  • You're curious about social media, digital culture, news and how brands connect with audiences
  • You're excited to experiment with AI and LLM tools to support research, analysis and more efficient ways of working
  • You're comfortable learning new platforms and tools and don't need to have experience with every analytics platform on day one
  • You're a clear communicator who can help turn complicated information into simple, understandable takeaways
  • You're organized, collaborative and comfortable juggling multiple projects and deadlines
  • You're eager to learn, ask questions, take feedback and build your analytical skills
  • You're able to commit to the full six-month internship and 40-hour workweek
