Working within a small, high-impact team, the intern will play a meaningful role in translating governance strategy into practical, day-to-day execution. This role provides critical leverage to a small Data Governance team by taking on detailed, high-value execution work. The intern's contributions will directly enable the team to focus on strategic priorities while ensuring that foundational governance capabilitiesโ€”especially for AIโ€”are built in a scalable and sustainable way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and organize metadata to enable effective Data Steward curation and governance workflows
  • Catalog, document, and maintain AI-related datasets in Alation, ensuring standards, completeness, and usability
  • Partner with Data Stewards and data owners to support governance adoption and alignment to business use cases
  • Help organize, validate, and maintain governance artifacts, definitions, and documentation
  • Translate defined governance frameworks into repeatable, scalable operational processes
  • Contribute to improving data quality, transparency, and control across both traditional and AI-driven data use cases
  • Participate in intern programming including lunch & learns and networking opportunities
Qualifications
  • Junior or Senior status pursuing a bachelor's degree
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Interest in data governance, data management, analytics, and AI/ML
  • Strong analytical and data-handling skills
  • Demonstrated interest or capability in AI-related concepts, tools, or applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
