Job description

The Safety Clerk will be responsible for inputting a high volume of data from multiple sources into databases for the purpose of storing accident, injury, and incident reports.

Non-CBA Position:
  • Competitive compensation package of minimum $22.31 - Maximum $26.52

Benefits include:
  • Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks

  • Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floating
  • Other standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability.

Responsibilities:
  • Uses a variety of software programs and forms to accurately document allinjury, accident, and incident reports
  • Review data for deficiencies or errors, correcting any incompatibilities.
  • Follow up with employees and other departments, as needed, to obtain incomplete or missing information.
  • Compiles data and generates reports.
  • Creates employee files, scans documents for electronic storage, and files hard copy documents.
  • Responds to queries for information and accesses relevant files.
  • Covers the Receptionist position during periods of absence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Licensing and Certifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).

Experience Required:
  • Two (2) years of clerical work in an office setting.

Skills and Knowledge Required:
  • Accurate data entry keystrokes with adequate speed.
  • Ability to pay close attention to details, and present good planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Computer skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Ability toutilizeother departmental and Company software programs.
  • Must be able to multi-task, work effectively with interruptions, and meet or exceed production and quality goals.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information or issues.
  • Mustdemonstrateability to work in a team environment and willingness to assumeadditionalor new responsibilities readily.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.
  • Travel requirement: Less than 5%.

Skills and Knowledge Preferred:
  • Bilingual or multi-lingual skills.
